About Sue's House

Sue's house is a small and informal cancer charity based in Ilford. We care for those going through and having survived cancer by providing counselling and additional therapies.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • This is an opportunity to be a part of a small, friendly informal charity, which gives support to people suffering from cancer and other illnesses.
  • We need someone to provide additional sessions of acupuncture for our patients and occasionally their family members who we assess would benefit from this additional care.

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications

  • All volunteers would need to be qualified and registered with the appropriate professional body.
  • In addition they would also need their own indemnity insurance in order to practise at Sue's House.
  • We provide a safe space for therapists to treat patients, with basic amenities, such as a therapy chair, but specialist equipment would need to be provided by the individual therapist.
  • Need to be 18+ years old

Sue's house is only open on 3 days a week, during the day, and volunteers could attend weekly or fortnightly, or less often by arrangement.
