DodgyTickers Health

About the DodgyTickers Health programme:

Founded and led by a heart patient, the DodgyTickers programme is a fun and unique, peer-to-peer health and wellbeing programme in east London for people living with cardiovascular disease, and anyone over the age of 50. For the last 10 years the programme has continued to grow and evolve offering adapted weekly exercise sessions, social activities, and mental health support.  


About the role: (support sustainable growth and development of the DodgyTickers Health programme):

  1. Raising awareness of the programme with key stakeholders (e.g. NHS, local authorities, public health leads, heart patients, over 50s)
  2. Development of a licensing or partnership model to enable the growth of the programme and rollout to new communities
  3. Enhancing reach and engagement with under-represented groups such as women, asian, black and other minority ethnic, etc. You need a flexible and positive attitude and can work remote from home, or possibly work from an office or hot desking space where the programme founder/lead is based. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and connect with key partners in primary and secondary care, public health, and voluntary sectors
  • Business Development: Shape and communicate a compelling case for support and collaboration with external stakeholders
  • Strategic Outreach: Develop and implement strategies to identify, map, and engage target stakeholders; open doors and facilitate key meetings to introduce the programme
  • Inclusion Focus: Work with the Programme Lead to identify and pursue opportunities that expand the programme’s reach to under-represented groups, including women and BAME communities
  • Programme Expansion: Support the creation of a scalable licensing or partnership model to establish DodgyTickers centres in new locations
  • Planning & Delivery: Co-develop a work plan with clear priorities and timelines; manage discrete short-term projects
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Programme Lead
  • Communications Support: Assist with leading on outreach, engagement materials, and promotional messaging

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications

  • Previous experience and/or strong skills in a business-to-business environment, including stakeholder mapping and strategic engagement
  • Passionate about community health, cardiovascular wellbeing, and reducing health inequalities
  • Committed to inclusion and outreach to under-represented groups, especially women and BAME communities
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and manage tasks effectively
  • Shares the values of inclusion, health equity, and preventative care
  • Experience in dealing with individuals and external organisations would be an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written)
  • Be able to be a representative of the organisation and  generate a positive image externally.
  • Personable and empathic to the needs of service users and maintain confidentiality.
  • If you are a confident, enthusiastic, and able to deal sympathetically, patiently, and sensitively with all service users.
  • Have access to a mobile phone and a computer/tablet would be helpful but not essential.

    Coaching, mentoring to develop new skills working with programme lead who is a chartered professional.
