Be a vital link in the support for older people with hearing loss. Help them to get maximum use out of their hearing aids by ensuring they work and are in tip-top condition.
Since Covid-19 closed, access to hospitals around the country means hundreds of people have not been able to get hearing aids fixed easily. This leads to crippling anxiety, lack of connection with friends and family and an increasing sense of isolation and withdrawal from society. Since the beginning of the lockdown, we have helped over 400 people!
Even now, it can still take over two weeks for someone with a faulty hearing aid to get an appointment to get this fixed. We desperately need more volunteers in Redbridge and the surrounding area.

Most volunteers will have one or two people to visit each week, depending on demand and how busy you like to be. On average, we would need a person to commit to at least two hours per week. There is also the opportunity to attend clinics in care homes once a month to help larger numbers of people.
