Board Secretary  (Voluntary)

We seek to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons of different groups and circumstances, having regard to racial origin, disability, gender, gender assignment, religion, age, sexual orientation, marital status or civil partnership, maternity/paternity. To this end we offer to provide materials and speakers to community organisations, places of worship schools, trade unions about equalities issues challenging myths, prejudices and bullying. We are working to ensure that new communities and marginalised people have a voice, are able to participate in the community, access advice and services and know their rights through outreach and producing materials. We offer advice and training on equalities issues.

Purpose of the role: The role will provide RECC'S Board of Trustees/Directors with vital clerical and administrative support.

 Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • the scheduling of meetings, coordination of year planner, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are clear
  • to liaise closely with the Chair, Treasurer, Vice Chair 
  •  to assist with meeting preparations and associated activities
  • prepare minutes of meetings
  •  prepare and circulate action summaries 
  • progress chase and prepare updates

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications

  • handle correspondence, other communication, etc (by post, emails and telephone) 
  • prioritise actions based on importance 
  • maintain records, safe storage of data, etc. in compliance with data protection regulations, the law, funders requirements
  •  exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality to protect the Charity from damage at all times
  • Time commitment for 2/3 days a month
