Carefree Kids 2020
Trustees and committee members
We are applying to become a charity, and are looking for more trustees and committee members. We wonder if you, or someone you know, might be interested? We are a small, friendly, experienced group based in North East London. We at present meet on Saturday morning every few weeks.
Carefree Kids 2020 provides one-to-one, child-led, weekly therapeutic play sessions in schools in North-East London and Essex, as well as support for school staff.
‘Why didn’t you come in year 2? My life started when you came!’
‘In this room I get stronger and stronger. You are the only one who listens to me.’
Children to volunteer play therapists
‘I feel much lighter now. I really love to talk to you.’
Staff member
Carefree Kids is a small local charity providing emotional support to children, teenagers and their parents and carers in Waltham Forest and neighbouring boroughs since 2004.
We use non-directive therapeutic play, art therapy, dramatherapy and dance/movement therapy to help release troubling emotions that may be difficult to communicate verbally or in other ways.
This rewarding voluntary role involves attending trustee meetings approximately every six to eight weeks during term times and working with our dedicated staff team to ensure the objectives of Carefree Kids are met.
Skills, attributes, qualifications and experience
We are seeking people who are dedicated and share our passion for children's mental health and wellbeing and can offer previous management or Board experience.
