Energy Cafe Volunteer

Transition Town Ilford


Ilford Energy Cafe is looking to expand our team of volunteer  energy champions/ advisers. We offer simple DIY tips on how to save energy at home, help people to  find out about grants for energy-saving improvements and signpost people to sources of help if they are struggling to pay energy bills. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • The role contributes towards combatting climate change.
  • Volunteers work alongside a trained energy adviser, and aren’t expected to volunteer for every session.
  • Training is provided.

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications.

  • We are looking for people who care about saving energy.
  • Good communication skills,
  • Willing to take part in some basic training in giving energy advice
  •  Enjoy working as part  of a team.
  • Need to be 18+

The energy Cafe runs from 2pm to 3-45 pm every other Saturday afternoon, and occasionally at other times. Volunteers are not expected to come to every session, but we ask people to come once a month if they can.
