Monday Food bank volunteer

Ilford Lane Food Bank- ICSS

As one of the welcoming faces of the Ilford Lane Food Bank (ILFB) you’ll be approachable, friendly, enjoy meeting people and able to offer  support to those in crisis.  You’ll treat service users with compassion and dignity.

As an ILFB volunteer and helper you will play a vital role in helping people who use food banks, greeting people coming into the food bank, providing them with food and making them feel comfortable.

In this role you can make a real difference to people’s lives providing help and support to those in crisis in your local community.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • View and check referral cards
  • Place food on tables and  prepare individual bags of items such as tea bags, pasta and rice
  •  Tidy up as required during the session and dispose of cardboard and plastic packaging once food distribution has ended

Please note that this role is only available on Mondays

  • Age: 16 years +
