Sue's house is a small and informal cancer charity based in Ilford. We care for those going through and having survived cancer by providing counselling and additional therapies.

Volunteer massage Therapist

Main tasks and responsibilities 

 We are in need of someone who can provide massage treatment for our patients, and occasionally family members if required.

  • A safe space will be provided, with the basic amenities, such as practice chair, but specialist equipment will need to be provided by the therapist.
  • Experience of working with distressed individuals
  • Good listening skills
  • Empathetic

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualification

  • Therapists should be fully qualified and registered with the appropriate professional body.
  • Minimum qualification level of L3 Diploma in Massage
  • In addition they will need to have personel indemnity insurance to practise at Sue's House.
  • Need to be over 18 years old

Details

Sue's House is open 3 days a week during the daytime. Volunteers would ideally attend for two hours per week or fortnight, or less frequently by arrangement.
