Occupational Therapy Equipment Cleaning Volunteer

Saint Francis Hospice

As a Volunteer Occupational Therapy Equipment Cleaner, you will play a valuable part in supporting patients who receive care in their own homes.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • You will support the Therapies Team, who take equipment such as wheelchairs, walking frames and bath aids out into the community. Once it is no longer needed, the equipment is returned to the hospice for cleaning.
  • In this role you will need to clean and prepare these items so that they are ready for when they are next needed.
  • Your support helps us to continue to offer comfort, dignity and independence to people in their homes.

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications

  • Clean and dry OT equipment including (but not limited to):
  • Wheelchairs
  • Walking frames, rollators, crutches
  • Bath aids
  • Follow all hospice infection control procedures.
  • Keep the cleaning area tidy and safe.
  • Experience with cleaning care equipment
  • Able to work independently, once trained.
  • Need to be 18+
