Parent Champions for Families information Services (FIND)

LB Redbridge: Children's Centres

We are always on the lookout for volunteers! Anyone with experience of being a parent can be a volunteer Parent Champion. 

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • For a few hours each week you will help by reaching out to local parents to share your experiences of childcare and providing information and guidance. 
  • Our Parent Champion Co-ordinator will support by providing training to the Parent Champions to help us reach other parents. 
  • Volunteer parent champions will spend time each week linking up with local parents to share information about childcare, local services and the benefits, to their child, of taking up their free early education place.

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications 

  • Be a Redbridge resident. 
  • Complete a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) with us. This is a criminal records check (it is free to Redbridge volunteers). 
  • Commit to volunteering a few hours a week. 
  • Commit to attending training sessions and meetings. 
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about engaging with other parents to share information on childcare and local services and improving their children's outcomes.
