Volunteer stock assistant

Food banks provide essential community services to people in crisis.

As the Stock Assistant you will help the Stock Manager to control the stock room, ensuring enough stock is maintained to meet the demand.

Moving stock around sites as required ensuring food wastage is kept to a minimum.

In this role you can make a real difference to people’s lives providing vital help and support to those in crisis in your local community

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Managing the food bank van and ensuring it is maintained in accordance with current all legal requirements.
  • Taking charge of the organisation of the stock room including stock rotation to minimise food wastage.
  • Engaging with Site Managers to ensure stock levels at sessions is sufficient to meet demand.
