Volunteer STEM Education Instructor

Volunteer STEM Education Instructor, you will support the delivery of our #BeMeDigitalInclusion programme by facilitating engaging and interactive STEM learning sessions for children and young people aged 11-16.

Mains tasks and responsibilities

  • You will deliver online workshops and activities designed to introduce students to STEM subjects, emerging technologies, and career opportunities.
  • Sessions will focus on developing technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, confidence, and career awareness in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Topics may include STEM careers, coding, artificial intelligence, Web 3.0, blockchain, digital skills, innovation, employability skills, and other STEM-related subjects.

Full training, resources, and lesson materials will be provided.

You will work closely with programme coordinators, teachers, and fellow volunteers to ensure students receive an engaging and enriching learning experience.

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week | Minimum once per week. Sessions are delivered throughout the week.

Location: Hybrid

Audience: Students aged 11 - 16 years old

Session Delivery: During school hours or after school, depending on school availability & weekends.

What skills do I need?

What are we looking for?

  • Strong background in a STEM-related field such as computer science, engineering, technology, mathematics, data science, or related disciplines.
  • Passion for inspiring and educating young people.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain STEM concepts in an engaging and accessible way.
  • Experience delivering workshops, training sessions, teaching, mentoring, coaching, or public speaking.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of learners.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within STEM fields.
  • Flexible, reliable individuals able to commit to scheduled sessions within UK time.
  • Confidence using online platforms such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom.
  • Possession of a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to undergo the process.
  • Need to be 18+ years old
