Our focus is to make a difference in the lives of families going through one crises or the other. We provide basic needs such as food and clothes for individuals and families, and highly skilled programs for young people to help them unlock their potential.

Warehouse Assistant Volunteer  Acting as the link between food donations coming in and reaching those in crisis, you’ll support the smooth running of your local food bank.

Our warehouse sessions usually take place once a week on Thursdays. You maybe required to some physical work like lifting crates, a lot of the tasks involve checking expiry dates, sorting stock, and general organisation.

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • You’ll be part of a team sorting and packing food and additional items in the warehouse.
  • You’ll be organised and have an eye for detail; this includes checking, weighing and recording stock and sorting food by date and  type.
  • This is a physical role as you’ll be on your feet a lot and you must be comfortable with some heavy lifting and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse.

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, qualifications and experience

  • Volunteers need to be fit as there is some heavy lifting and long periods of standing.
  • We need volunteers who are organised and able to follow instructions, good at working in a team.
  • Need to be 18+
