Warehouse Assistant

Redbridge Foodbank is seeking Warehouse Assistant. This is a key role in helping our busy Foodbank to operate and ensuring we can continue providing services to local people in need.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • You’ll be part of a team sorting and packing food and additional items in the warehouse.
  • You’ll be organised and have an eye for detail; this includes checking, weighing and recording stock and sorting food by date and type.
  • This is a physical role as you’ll be on your feet a lot and you must be comfortable with some heavy lifting and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse. 
  • You will play a key role in keeping the warehouse area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Checking for evidence of pests and notifying the warehouse supervisor if there are any concerns regarding health and safety.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and support other team members
  • Ability to work on your own with just a little bit of supervision
  • We are seeking people who are willing to get "stuck in", are happy volunteering with people from diverse backgrounds, who are thorough and reliable. 
  • Need to be 18+
